How do I shave my facial hair so that it wont traumatize the skin?
Go to the store The Body Shop and they have THE BEST mens shave creme there. I have a very sensative face when I shave and this makes it so much better!!

You can use lotion instead of shaving cream, my husband uses it, and it really works.

You have to shave in the direction of the growth. I saw on 10 years younger them shave from the top down to avoid razor burn. Also make sure your razor is new because a dull one will make it irritated

By buying %26amp; using an electric/battery operated razor. It takes the skin a while to adjust to the razor but in time, it'll give you the best shave you ever had. I bought my son a Braun last year for Christmas %26amp; he loves it.

I had this problem for a while till I did a little bit of research. The most important part is the equipment you use. For shaving, I use Jack Blacks Beard Lube and it works GREAT. And I use the Fusion razor.
As for technique, you should shave first WITH the grain. Then after you are done that, you can apply some more shaving cream, and shave AGAINST the grain.
Use a after shave if necessary that doesn't contain alcohol.
Also another idea is to do a good face wash (I know jack black has a good wash wash too) before you shave.
I started doing this and never got irritated skin, and no cuts either!

Well, the short answer is you don't.
Shaving will always irritate the skin, simply because metal is being scraped over it.
Your best bet to minimise irritation is to do the following:
1) Wash your face warm water before applying gel or foam. try to shave after a hot shower, as your facial hair will be softer. This is also more practical than putting a hot towel on your face prior to shaving ;)
2) apply the foam to a moist face, never dry-shave.
3) use a good quality shaving gel, or foam - and always moisturise your face immediately after shaving - forget aftershave, it's BS - apply a milky moisturiser.
4) spend some money trying out different razors - sometimes those gimmicky 4-blade contraptions can irritate more than the tried-and-true 2-blade models, simply because there's more scraping. Always buy quality razors, and if you suffer from irritation a lot, then you'll have to bear the expense of changing them more often. Using a dull razor will butcher your face.
5) Rinse your razor quite often, between strokes. Don't let it clog up, and make sure you rinse under hot water. The hotter the better (don't burn your fingers).

My husband tried Imperial Touch Shave Gel - this stuff is the only one that really worked well and left his skin smooth and without any razor bumps or burns. I know the price is a bit higher than what you would get in a regular store but it's well worth the money. I remember buying it from Amanady.com but I believe you can also get it here: http://www.imperialtouch.com/prodView.ph... I got the tip from a friend who got a sample from this company and we tried it - it really works. I wouldn't recommend it if it would really work. It got a nice scent too. Give it a try - it worked with my husband and our friend was pretty happy, too! Let me know if it worked with you as well - Good Luck!
